Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

TALJONICK, Jonathan M. - Of Flint, age 39, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at McLaren-Flint surrounded by his family.

In celebration of a short, yet beautiful, life lived by Jonathan Michael Taljonick, we will be gathering at Holy Redeemer Family Life Center located on Bristol Rd in Burton. this Saturday, April 6th from 2pm to 6pm. There will be a time of prayer and an opportunity to share memories at 3pm. Everyone is welcome to participate in the ninja turtle themed attire or to dress casually. Please join us: stay, visit, laugh and help us to celebrate the amazing husband, son, brother, uncle and friend that he was.

Jonathan was born in Flint, Michigan on January 19, 1985 the son of Richard Jr. and Pamela (Edwards) Taljonick. Although high school wasn't his favorite, he proudly continued his education at the University of Michigan-Flint, where he worked extremely hard to rank top of his class. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Jonathan had a passion for his career and helping people heal. Physical Health and working out was very important in his own life as well. On July 24, 2021, he married his "Sexy Goddess", Roxanne Rockefeller. He was completely dedicated and in love with his wife. They both looked forward to starting a family together but suffered the loss of a miscarriage. Jonathan was so excited and would have been the best father.

Jonathan was an avid fan and collector of everything Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He enjoyed watching football and basketball, rooting all the way for the Detroit Lions and Detroit Pistons. The sport he excelled at was bowling. He joined a league with his cousin and strived in an attempt to obtain that 300. He had a passion for cooking, but only for his loved ones. He participated and carried on family traditions such as religiously watching the Christmas Story marathon every Christmas season and making delicious chili and birthday cakes for everyone. Jonathan recently had a love for traveling and visited Mexico, Aruba and the Upper Peninsula. He was the king of "dad jokes".  Jonathan would notoriously handwrite jokes in birthday cards for his family every year. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and will be missed by so many.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Roxanne Taljonick;

Mother, Pamela Taljonick;

Sister, Carrie (Garron) Crump;

Mother-in-law, Debra Butler;

Sisters-in-law, Joann Taljonick and Samatha Lester;

Brothers-in-law, Jeremiah Butler and Ricki (April) Butler;

Nieces and nephews, Mariah, Gage (Melissa), Gabe, Kash, Ricky and several other extended nieces and nephews;

Great-niece, Caidence;

Beloved dogs, Winston and Daisy;

and many more family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Taljonick Jr. and brother, Richard Taljonick III.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the family, which can be made payable to Roxanne Rockefeller. (Venmo: @Roxanne-Rockefeller).

The family extends a special thank you to Heart-to Heart Hospice for providing timely and excellent care.

Not sure what to say?

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Pam,
I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for your family. I have fond memories of being at your house as a child. One memory in particular was watching TRL on MTV and seeing the Vanilla Ice music video “Ice ice baby “. Over the years I’ve watched Jonathon on Facebook achieve huge milestones. You must be so proud him. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I only know Jonathan and Roxanne through puppies. I know he was a very sweet man dedicated to his wife, and of course the pups. Even though I knew him only for a short time I realized I wanted them forever in my life. Puppy Grandma
