Michael was a kind-hearted person with a unique sense of humor who lived life to its fullest. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, music and spending time with his family and friends. Born at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Michael grew up in Pine Valley and graduated from Mountain Empire High School. He worked in construction and on his grandfather’s ranch. He is survived by his father Christopher Gene Ulmer, mother Theresa Ulmer, sister Brittany Ulmer Hopkins, brothers Christopher Ryan Ulmer, and Jeromy Ulmer, half-brother Keagan Michael Ulmer Latus, step-brother Kerrick Ryan, step-mother Kathy Latus, grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Mikey was held at noon on Wednesday, April 28 at the Bourgeois family ranch on 1523 Viejas Creek Drive, Alpine, CA 92901. Earlier church services were held at the St. John's Lutheran Church for the immediate family.
Mikey, you were a joy to know. We have so many happy memories together. You will always be with me in my heart. May God bless you, for you are under his care now. I am sure you are enjoying heaven as much as you enjoyed life here on earth. Country boys do very well in heaven.Rest in Peace. Love, K

I never had the chance to meet you Mikey, but I have had the chance to meet your older brother Ryan, and the time that I have got to spend with him has been the best times I have had in awhile, I could only imagine what you were like, you two look a lot alike as well. He misses you a lot and loves you. He really wants to see you again: we went up to the site last night at about 4am and waited for the sun to come up.

Although I did not have the privilege of meeting him, Mikey seems like a fun loving guy. I am so sorry for the loss. I can only imagine how you feel. Yet, be remembered that "there will be a resurrection" in a beautiful paradise here on Earth (Acts 24: 15; Psalm 37: 10, 11). May this hope comfort you during this difficult moment in your life.
