Not sure what to say?

Not a year passes that Bob and I don't think about John and his big happy smile, his kindness to his colleagues, participation in recreational activities outside of work, the love he showed his family, and the animals he worked with. I hope the family is well these days. Tory Hampshire

Dear Betsy, your wonderful husband Dr. Jonathan Vogel was instrumental in serving as my PI and mentor in 2006-2007 at the NIH along my journey towards becoming a board-certified dermatologist. The year I spent working on skin cancer and hair biology with him was one of the most important and foundational years of my training. Flash forward many years, I have now been in clinical practice in Texas for over eight years and am grateful every day for his mentorship in helping me to achieve my...

Dear Betsy: There is not a year that passes that I think of John. He was one of the most engaging smart and kind people I knew in science and in life. Bob and I send our thoughts your way. Tory and Bob Balaban.

Dear Betsy,
although it has already been 9 years since Jon's passing away, your memories must still be fresh. I will always remember Jon as a wonderful teacher and good friend that introduced me to American culture like no one else.
Best wishes
Alexander

Dear Betsy-Nora, Hannah and Max
I just got the sad news of Jon's passing. My fingers are shaking while I am writing this line
So positive he was- always full of support and a joy to work with and be around him. He has told me so much about molecular biology. He was responsible for making the US experience (3.5 years) some of the best time in my life. I will never forget him and be grateful ;
I will include the VOGELS in my prayers.

To the Vogel Family
We were very sad to learn of the passing of Jonathan. Such a bright and wonderful young man. I am very proud to have been his third and fourth grade teacher. A bright candle has been extinguished all too soon. We will keep all of you in our prayers.

Dear Betsy,

It is with sadness that I write. Gene and I are so very sorry to have heard about Jon's passing. Although it has been many years since we last spent time together, we always thought of Jon as one of those very few bright people who was dedicated to his dreams. His warmth and kindness will be remembered. My heartfelf prayers are with you and your children.

Dear Betsy, Nora, Hannah and Max,

I just heard the tragic news from Sandra and would like to express my heartfelt sympathy with all of you. One of the things I remember best of him is how he would with endless and amazing patience explain the ongoings of the world to his then little children. One time, he stood outside in the dark with Hannah on his arms and showed her all the stars in the sky and answered all her questions - it looked like a perfect father/daughter-moment. Moments...

I am very saddened hear of the loss of Dr. Vogel, who has been an incredible mentor to me over the years. The year I spent in his lab at the NIH (2006-2007) was highly rewarding, and it was wonderful having such a genuinely caring person as my PI. He was a remarkable and highly gifted human being and someone who I will always remember fondly. It was a blessing to have him in my life.
