ALERT! Due to the forecasted winter storm on Saturday, January 30, 2021. The visitation for Jon Weaver has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Teahen Funeral Home.
Jonathan “Jon” Daniel Weaver, 40, of Cedar Rapids died on Thursday, January 21, 2021. A visitation will be held at Teahen Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Per Covid guidelines, attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. A Celebration of Life and burial will be held at a later date.
Jon is survived by his wife Mikaela; three children Gabi, Brady and Tytan; parents Dan and Linda Weaver; siblings Jennifer (Brian) Mead, Jeff Weaver, Katie Weaver and Matt Weaver; in laws Mark and Steffanie Crady and Amy and Dave Hochstetler and many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
Jon was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Jon was born on June 1, 1980 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Dan and Linda Podzimek Weaver. He graduated from Xavier High School in 1999 and then went on to Kirkwood Community College. Jon joined the Army National Guard in 2002 and proudly served his country for 14 years.
Jon’s greatest joy in life was being a husband and father. He loved being outside and playing with his kids. His favorite holiday was Halloween and taking his kids Trick-or- Treating. Jon enjoyed watching sports and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks. He also liked putting puzzles together, listening to Podcasts, and going fishing. Jon and Mikaela liked to take their family on trips where he could let loose and be a “fun dad.” He would drop anything to help his family and was instilling that in his children.
Instead of flowers, memorial may be directed to Jon’s family.
Linda, Dan, and the entire Weaver family....so very sorry for your loss. Our hearts break for you.

I still don't believe this is real. I can't believe it's real, because it means I'll never get to see your smile, hear your laugh, give you a hug, or tell you how proud I am of you ever again. I didn't tell you often enough. You are one of my heroes, and I miss you more than I would have thought possible. My first friend is gone, and I miss you. I will do everything I can to help your family, and to make sure Mikaela, Gabi, Brady and Tytan know how much you love them. Rest easy, and keep an...
