Not sure what to say?

It was a pleasant and bittersweet moment to find this on my computer. 15 years is a long time, but I have crystal clear memories of Prof. Fang from the times we shared. He was a significant influence upon my life in the years I served him. Having him brought to my mind, I realize I still miss him, his accent, his banter, his direct nudges to get me to return to academia. From my side, it is a regret to the world, that he never wrote his autobiography. He was a complex man, deeply driven,...

He is still missed

Dr. Fang had a profound influence on my life. He taught me critical thinking and supported my continuing educational aspirations. He was the highlight of my undergrad years.

I was a student of Dr Fang and having loving memories of this man. I regret not getting to know him better. I will never forget him.

I had the privilege of being in one of Dr Fangs summer classes in 1988. It was the most enjoyable class of my college career. I have always regretted not getting to know him better. He was a kind and open person.

Some of my favorite memories of college were Dr. Fang's philosophy class. He always stressed the autodidactic and I am very grateful to have spent time with him.

He valued his privacy greatly and he would call me when he wanted to discuss the material and then when he wanted to give me the next portion. I thoroughly enjoyed each conversation with him. He would talk for very long times sorting out his ideas as I listened. His favorite subjects were philosophy, education, and the problems in American education. We were on opposite poles on many issues, but...

I would like to thank you for your kind words in my father's guest book. It makes me happy to think he is remembered by friends and students. Having known him you are certainly aware he was a discreet man. His sudden death was a tremendous loss to us.
