Jordan Jacob Vaughn

Jordan Jacob Vaughn, 26, went to his heavenly home on December 15, 2017, after a valiant battle with small cell lung cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his journey and ultimately gave him peace. Jordan was born to Ralph Scott Vaughn and Patricia Ann (Brock) Vaughn, in Marion, OH, on October 12, 1991. From high school, Jordan was very vocal about his faith and began sharing the Word of God to the community around him. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and a minor in Family and Child Studies. He was pursuing his Master's degree in Theology at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Jordan was blessed with a loving family. He married his best friend, Katherine Taylor Coleman, on May 31, 2014, in Denham Springs, LA. Together they adopted two dogs, Zoey and Hatti, that Jordan always referred to as "his girls". While Jordan did not have any children of his own yet, working in camp and youth ministries allowed him to mentor many with intentional discipleship. Jordan was a mentor and teacher at heart. He was compassionate and intellectual, and always had time to answer questions or pray for another, no matter how small the inquisition. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator and Savior. Jordan is survived by his wife, Katherine Vaughn; his parents, Scott Vaughn and Patty Kay; and grandmother, Sharon Brock. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Brock. The service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at The Way Church of Denham Springs. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00pm with the service to start at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jordan's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Camp Istrouma to fund a special project in memory of Jordan.
