Seale Funeral Service - Denham Springs Obituary

Jordan Jacob Vaughn, 26, went to his heavenly home on December 15, 2017, after a valiant battle with small cell lung cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his journey and ultimately gave him peace. Jordan was born to Ralph Scott Vaughn and Patricia Ann (Brock) Vaughn, in Marion, OH, on October 12, 1991. From high school, Jordan was very vocal about his faith and began sharing the Word of God to the community around him. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and a minor in Family and Child Studies. He was pursuing his Master's degree in Theology at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Jordan was blessed with a loving family. He married his best friend, Katherine Taylor Coleman, on May 31, 2014, in Denham Springs, LA. Together they adopted two dogs, Zoey and Hatti, that Jordan always referred to as "his girls". While Jordan did not have any children of his own yet, working in camp and youth ministries allowed him to mentor many with intentional discipleship. Jordan was a mentor and teacher at heart. He was compassionate and intellectual, and always had time to answer questions or pray for another, no matter how small the inquisition. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator and Savior. Jordan is survived by his wife, Katherine Vaughn; his parents, Scott Vaughn and Patty Kay; and grandmother, Sharon Brock. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Brock. The service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at The Way Church of Denham Springs. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00pm with the service to start at 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jordan's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Camp Istrouma to fund a special project in memory of Jordan. Pictures of Jordan are gladly accepted at [email protected]. The family thanks you for your prayers.

Not sure what to say?

I miss my little brother a lot. I sit and talk with you a lot. I cry more then anything. Your life to me meant everything, I sometimes don’t know how to grieve and it’s hard. I wish that you were still here among us, I wonder if u were still here and we had time together if maybe my life would turn for the better with your guidiance. I’m so lost . I just want you back. I never got to say goodbye.

My brother was the most happiest child and cute little blonde hair and blue eyes you’d ever saw. He was passionate about serving GOD and he loves everyone and I miss him so much

Jordan was a wonderful young man and a delight to be around. He was very smart and quick witted.

I know he loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart. He will be greatly missed...but I will look forward to seeing him again as we stand on the clouds with Jesus and walk the streets of purest gold in heaven!!!

i pray the peace of God that passes all understanding fill your hearts and minds during this time. God is with all of you! Hebrews 13:5b.

He was a amazing brother and was always close to God and I loved every day I've spent with him since he was born. This is a hard time for all of us who loved him and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I love you my little brother always, condolences Kat. Love u
