Dad had studied radio broadcasting at the University of Guanajuato, Mexico. While in the United States he followed a career in Spanish radio, working as a radio announcer at the radio station KIFN near the Riverside Ballroom.  He was one of the first Spanish radio announcers in Phoenix. Dad had continued as a waiter at a high-end restaurant called Joe Hunts in Scottsdale.  Dad would go on to open his own restaurant called "MI CASA SU CASA" he promoted it while at the same time being a radio celebrity calling himself "El bigote que habla" translating to the talking mustache.  He would translate U.S news into the Spanish-language. He continued his fame as a disk jockey on radio and television.  He played as a master of ceremony to local artist here in Phoenix and international musicians coming from Mexico. Dad applied for and received his United States citizenship in the 1960’s. He later went on to work for the City of Phoenix to support his family, he later left radio to concentrate on growing his business. Not sure what to say?

Yes it is sad that Dad didn't make it to see his 95th birthday. This day makes it more meaningful that he lived a very long and prosperous life. Today the dark clouds have opened up as if Dad is smiling from heaven. He is letting us know that he is in a better place with god. ~ Bonie
