Not sure what to say?

One of the nicest young man. We were blessed to have known him and watched him become a awesome adult. Ever lasting memories. Thelma i think of you and your loss everyday. I cherished our friendship from the first day we met back in 1969. So many great times. Love Kristine

The kindest, gentlest soul mixed with humor and fun. An amazing man and friend

To Jose's family and loved ones - I was the residency coordinator when Dr. Garcia went through our Anesthesiology program here at UNMC, and I am so shocked and heartbroken to hear that Dr. Garcia has passed from this world. Jose was a bright light during his residency here, and we all loved him so very much. He was a wonderful physician, a wonderful Chief Resident, and a wonderful person too! I look forward to seeing him again in heaven!

Loved Italian adventures with you Jose, your light is missed xo

I met Jose over 20 years ago on South Beach in FL. I´m thankful for every conversation, FaceTime and when ever I was in NYC our time. I will miss you dearly, your big heart, your loving nature and the way you always put a smile on my face and a happy tear in my eyes. You were a giant of a man next to me on so many levels, yet never did I ever feel small with you.

We have not seen Jose since medical school, but he was such a part of our lives- our kids have heard so much about him through the years, he is like a larger-than-life uncle they just haven´t met yet. The turns of phrase we use, the ongoing jokes that are always always funny, so many come directly from Jose. Jose was an incredible, giant soul- I pray he has an inkling of what he meant to us.

Jose had a heart of gold. I first met him on my very first day of anesthesiology residency at UNMC. He was so helpful and kind to all those around. It has been surreal learning of his passing. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
