Heaven is now a better place.
"And when the broken-hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer, let it be."
– The Beatles
Jose Ramon Herrera, 60, of Midland, Texas passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday, February 24th, 2025.
Jose was born in Durango, Mexico, to Jose and Maria Herrera. In his early 20s, he moved to Midland, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Marie, in the early 1980s. Together, they raised four children: Priscilla, Jasmin, Joe, and Ariel.
During the early years of his adulthood, Jose worked as the Head Chef at Ranchland Country Club, a role he enjoyed greatly. He also spent time there playing golf, a sport he loved. In his later years, he became a carpenter, a career he dedicated himself to for 15 years. One of his greatest joys was cooking for his family, especially during the holidays. He was famous for his delicious peach cobbler, which became a Thanksgiving tradition. Jose also cherished spending time with his grandchildren, often making pancakes for them on weekends, and taking evening walks. His love for his family was boundless, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jose will be lovingly remembered by his children Priscilla and her husband Efrain of midland, Texas; Jasmin and her husband Tony of Winder, Georgia; Joe and his wife Gabriella of Midland, Texas; Ariel and her husband Kevin of Katy, Texas; 13 Grandchildren Veronica, Abigail, Efrain, Julian, Joaquin, Izuara, Jolyne, Yanelly, Aleyda, Chris, Israel, Caleb, Elena, Asher; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Jose is preceded in death by his father Jose Herrera; brother Juan Herrera; brother Gabriel Herrera.
The family is grateful for all the love and support shown during this time. Dad’s memory will live on in our hearts forever.
A memorial with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5:00-9:00 PM at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel in Midland, Texas. The rosary will be held at 7:00 PM.
