Mr.Narezo was a true teacher and the one that made the most impact in my life. He was proud of his culture and was the best artist I have ever had to honor of knowing. He was my teacher but he was more like a friend. He will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers will be with his wife and childern/family. RIP

Mr. Narezo was my art teacher in high school. A great one at that. I invited him to my wedding and even though he did not feel well after surgery, he still attended. Im for ever grateful for his appearance. I will miss him greatly.

I am so saddened by Mr. Narezo's passing. He was my art teacher at Central, class of '94. He saw a potential in me that few other teachers had. He introduced me to so many things--mosaics, furniture design, I could go on and on. I will never forget how he made me feel like I had something to offer the world artistically, at a time I felt that I had little else to offer. He forever has a place in my heart.

I am saddened to hear of your loss. I have known Mr. Narezo since I was a young child. I was fortunate to also have him as my art teacher in high school. He always took extra time for me and encouraged me to further myself in the art world. He was one of my favorite educators and I would go so far as to say, I never learned more from anyone else.

Kathy, We are so sorry for the loss of Jose. We think of him often and how he touched our lives in just that short time. When Jose was near there was such a sense of calmness about him. I am very inspired by his mosaics. I wish we had more time with him, as well I'm sure you feel the same. Much strength in this difficult time.

I first met Jose in 1989 while working the Hispanic Festival. He later graciously accepted my humble request to be involved in building a new downtown restaurant. I never thought an artist of his caliber would agree to be part of such a basic commission. He was thrilled to help a young ambitious fellow Latino. He created the mosaic columns, the paintings, and even the uniforms were of his design or influence. He became a huge success ingredient of the business and for that I am forever...
