Dr. Jose Scerbo

I was pregnant in 1987 and went to the OBGYN group of Padilla, Trehy, Kilbride and Scerbo in Tampa. Three women plus Dr. Scerbo. I was told he was a high risk specialist. He was the one I hoped to get to deliver my child. On my 38th week of pregnancy he was the doctor I got for my exam and my blood pressure was elevated. He said "You´re going to deliver your baby today." I didn´t want to have another C-Section but he said to me "You could have a stroke in labor. Do you want to leave your baby...

Jose delivered my 2 boys and I wondered where he was recently and googled him. I am in shock and so sad to read about Dr. Scerbo's passing. That picture is exactly how i remember him! We kidded after my youngest was born that I had to stop having children since he would no longer be practicing medicine. Another memory was after my sons birth a few hours passed and he came into my hospital room to check on me. He said and I quote, "you don't even look like you literally just had a 8lb baby."...

Susanna, I was shocked to just find out about Jose. That smiling picture is how I remember him, even in our residency. He was the most compassionate ob I have ever worked with in 35 years. All of these tributes essentially summarize his dedication to each individual pt. You and I remember his dedication to many pts in Tampa when he would stay with them for prolonged periods beyond any usual expectations of normal pt care. My condolences to the Scerbo family. I just heard of his passing. He delivered my only child and I could not have chosen a better doctor.

I was a patient of Dr. Scerbo's for years before he stopped practicing. I often wondered what happened to him and decided to Google his name. I was shocked to hear of his passing. He was the kindest, most patient doctor I have ever been to. He was a life saver when I was pregnant with my second child. I can't believe I didn't know until now. I hope he is resting in peace.

I am truly heartbroken to hear of his passing. I was so afraid of childbirth and he was such a calming person he made it so much easier. so very sad thank u dr scerbo for my sons Matt and Sean. U were my dr for both.... Bless u

I loved Dr. Scerbo! He was my O.B. Gyn with both my children. I am so sad to have learned of his passing. He was such a gentle, loving and caring doctor. Truly one of a kind.

Shame on me, I just learned about my most beloved Dr. passed away today from Susanna. With tears in my eyes and all my gratitude toward the most wonderful & selfless Dr. who would spend time after work to try to explain to me certain procedure that I need. He & Susanna have become my family's friends, my daughter's Dr. You are missed by all of us with LOVE, Tip, Gaia & Nino
