Not sure what to say?

Dear Fran and Barbara, We were so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He has certainly left quite a legacy for you and yours. What an amazing man. Please know that your in our prayers.

Condolences to the Karas Family. My Godfather, Joza, gave me my first violin lesson many years ago and I enjoyed the get togethers with our Czech families when I was growing up. Pan Karas - Requiescat in Pace.

Dear Henry and Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with
you during this most difficult time.
May the Lord give you strength and
comfort. Mr. Karas was a very
special man.
With my deepest sympathy,
Deborah Alexander Treacy

To the family of Joza Karas, Joe was a respected colleague with whom I have shared many years playing chamber music during his early years in Hartford. I was also honored to have him bring his son Frances to study with me. Although I was at the retirement concert with the HSO, I am sorry not to have been able to attend his funeral as I am again at St. Francis Hospital. My deep sympathies to the Karas family, Bernie Lurie

Dear Aunt Anne and all the extended Karas family,
We are saddened to hear of Uncle Joe's passing and are praying for you all during this difficult time. We are reminded of him almost daily - and you probably don't know this - but we have a large painting of a man playing the violin in our living room. We purchased it in large part because it reminded me of Uncle Joe - it really looks like him. It hangs right where our boys practice the cello and serves as inspiration and as a constant...

Henry, Lynda and family,

The Karas Family,
It is with fond memories that we offer our condolences for the loss of your father Joe.
Our recollection goes back many years to Westminister St. when Joe,Millie,Francis,Henry and Michael were not only our neighbors but friends and playmates as well.
My parents always appreciated that Joe remembered them each Christmas long after we all left the old neighborhood.
Your dad was a wonderful gentle soul
who gave so much to so many and rightly deserves the...

To the Karas Family:
My mother and I are truly sorry to hear about Mr. Karas. I would also like to take this time to apologize for not attending the service. I didn’t find out till Tuesday night. I took private lessons from Mr. Karas since I was fifteen and I had the pleasure of being a part of the Adult String Ensemble of the Hartt School of Music. Unfortunately my college and work schedule was too much so I have not been able to attend for the past two years. I am extremely proud of...

To the Karas Family -

I was a student of Mr. Karas for a few years in the late 1970s/early 1980s. He always said (with a twinkle in his eye) that I had talent, but no discipline, and I have to say I appreciated his frankness -- his wise observation has returned to me again and again throughout my adult life.

More important than his pithy comment about this mediocre student, however, was his devotion to the legacy of Holocaust music and musicians. I don't feel I ever really...
