I was so very sorry to learn of Father Joe's passing. His mother Mary and my mother Josephine (Fiedler) were first cousins. I remember his first Mass at O.L.P.H. in Manhattan, must have been in 1952, and the faith he displayed while saying his father Otto's funeral Mass in the mid 1960's. Father Joe exchanged Christmas greetings with me annually. When his card did not arrive as usual over Thanksgiving weekend, I was concerned if anything had happened to him. My family and I would like to say that we are very sorry about the loss of your loved one. the bible speaks about dead one's and the hope of a ressurection of both the righteous and the unrighteous in the book of Acts24:15. again our condolences.

I found Fr.Joe after 47yrs., and just sent him a letter on 8/27/07...He was my priest in H.S. @O.L.P.H. in Manhattan....I guess it wasn't meant to be....God Bless His soul, he was one of a kind.
