Joseph A. "King Joe" Amendolaro

King Joe was kind and loving. He trained myself and two (2) classmates on power lifting techniques in his backyard one (1) summer. He later allowed us to lift at a gym he operated on Drinker St. May his family find peace in the memories of such a kind man.

Joe and I became friends almost 40 years ago.We traveled to many Olympic weightlifting competitions together.His approach not just to weightlifting but to everyday life was a true inspiration.To me Joe was the true epitome of an Olympic Champion. Rest in peace King Joe

As a kid, I remember stopping at the store on Sunday mornings after church to get hard rolls. Although he new my mom and dad, Joe would always make a point to chat with me. A great person who will be missed. May he Rest In Peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed when we got to see and talk with him.

Joe was an iconic olympic weightlifter who despite his great success was a kind and humble man. Although small in stature, Joe was a giant among men. Rest in peace.
