Dear Peter, Maureen, and Family: I remember you, Maureen, when you first began to date Joe. He was the man who made a difference, a man who made us both giggle with delight, despite all of his outward seriousness. And he made you happy, despite your serious scholarly-ness (always reading French!). I remember my visit to NYC to see all of you before and after Peter was born. And I vaguely remember tellling you, Maureen, over lunch, that your having a child would be a tax deductible gift...

Dear Maureen and Peter:

I was saddened to read about your husband and father's death in
The Day. What a remarkable career - am sure you are very proud of
his contribution to our world.
I recall him - and you both very well here at Mason's Island.
He was a quiet and thoughtful man and oh, to think Peter is in his first year at MIT - am sure Joseph Augusciak is extremely proud!
I send my sympathy and pray you may go from stength to stength.
