Joseph Azzalina, Sr.

-My Grandfather

Joseph Azzalina was a soft spoken, classy man.
He had great taste. He enjoyed fine wine.
He was a collector of antique pocket watches.
Joe, as everyone called him, was a world traveler.
He served proudly in the US military.

Joe saw most of the 20th Century-
and saw that his children, his grandchildren, his legacy -
were well rooted in the 21st.

The American dream...

To Everyone,

On behalf of my entire family, I want to thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I am one of Joe's many grandchildren, Michael. My Grandfather loved his store and his customers like another child or grandchild. He looked forward to seeing each of your faces and serving you his sandwiches as much as you looked to eating them.

He called you all "Pal" and "Suzie" in the most endearing ways. Believe me, if you were one of those two names, he loved you like...

Dear Joey, Tommy, and families,

I was saddened to hear of the loss of "Old Joe." He was a wonderful man and it was a pleasure to work for him at Joe's Market during my high school years. He always had a smile on his face at work and treated me with kindness and respect. He will truly be missed.

May the wonderful memories you have of Joe sustain you through this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To the Azzalina family,

I can remember coming into the deli just about every other day when your dad was working there(late 70's &80's). As the other posts have stated, there was and still is the feeling of family whenever you went in. Whether you were just ordering a hoagie to go or sitting down at the counter to eat, to food was always good. The potato and mac. salad can't be beat(best around). He always took the time to chat with you and the store was always open even in bad...

Tom and family,
Sorry to hear of your loss. I know he was a man that was loved and cared for very much. Working with Tom everyday and hearing him talk about his dad I know he was a great man. He had to a will to live. He is now at peace...and no longer in any discomfort. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.....

TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY, I WAS DEEPLY SADDENED TO HEAR OF "PAL'S" PASSING. HE WAS SUCH A NICE MAN WHO CARED ABOUT EVERYONE. I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF GETTING TO KNOW HIM DURING THE MANY YEARS I WORKED AT JOE'S MARKET. HE WAS ALWAYS SMILING AND HE REALLY LOVED HELPING DURING THE LUNCH RUSH. I ALWAYS HAVE MISSED WORKING AT THE DELI. THERE WAS A FEELING OF "FAMILY" WHETHER OR NOT YOU WERE AN AZZALINA. SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. HE WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED.
"HE WILL COVER YOU WITH HIS FEATHERS, AND...

Deepest Sympathies and Sincere Condolences to Joe's family. The end of an era, in Easton, for sure. I can remember his store on Ferry Street, when we young Lebanese kids, used to buy tennis balls, with the fuzz on them, and burn the fuzz, to use them as baseballs. And those hoagies....the best in Easton. I moved from Easton 20 years ago, but everytime I return, I have to have a Joe's Market hoagie, and potato and macaroni salad, and I always looked forward to seeing Joe behind the counter. My...
