Joseph Bankoff

I find the loss of Joe to be so sad. I am sure Lisa and the children will have a much greater loss to cope with Joe's passing than I do.
My memories with Joe are the early days in Tuscaloosa during his clerkship, the trips on the Okefenokee, and visits to Dauphin Island and the Gulf Coast. The brief visits of our later years, during child rearing and after that were brief indeed, but always had an immediate easy deep friendship that was promptly rekindled. The wedding...

I'll always remember our trip through the Okefenokee Swamp a long time ago. My sympathies to Lisa and the family.

Though Joe did not know me personally, and I never had the opportunity to work with him, I did see him getting coffee at the Ansley Starbucks this past year. I recognized him and stopped him to tell him hello and thank him for everything he had accomplished and tell him what an inspiration he was for a generation of IP lawyers. He was gracious, unassuming, and thankful for me recognizing him. Joe will be missed by many.

Knew Joe in law matters, and was aware of his immense community contributions. A gentle, yet forceful man, it was my benefit ti have known him.
