Joe and I met in Colorado at a Sierra Club conference in 1987. We had great conversations and had stayed in touch all these years. I was always impressed at his strong advocacy for the environment. He is missed.

When I think of the giving spirit of State College, the person who comes to mind is Joe Banks. I always appreciated that Joe could chat with anyone of any age. And I enjoyed learning about plants and the environment from his tireless work all over the Borough. He will be missed. RIP Joe.
