I served with Joe, he was my commanding officer in 1950. Since that time I have served other CO's but none as good as him. He was a quiet individual who got things done without raising his voice. He was highly respected by all who served with him. I have met hundreds of military members and I rate him as Number 1. I wish to send my condolences to his family.
