Family-Placed Obituary
JOSEPH STEPHEN BARTOLUCCI 24 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Joey was a graduate of the University of Florida and was an avid Gator fan. He pursued a career in environmental science. He loved life and enjoyed playing golf and being outdoors. Our beloved Joey leaves behind his loving mother, Gina Bartolucci; his sisters, Jennifer Bartolucci and Julia Vaughn; his grandfather, Bob Bartolucci and grandmother, Verne Bartolucci and his girlfriend, Amy Cognetti. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Bartolucci in March of 1986. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2009, at St. Rita Catholic Church, Wellington, FL, with interment to follow in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL. Hi, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. I only met him once when I slept over at your house a few years ago. Joey was watching Troy with his girlfriend, and you got ticked at him for not letting us watch too. But even from the little bit I've spoken to him I know he was a great guy. I read once in a book, "Sometimes, when you love someone, you end up having to say goodbye, and that just sucks." It's completely true.

Joey's Family,
I have been waiting for the moment when I would be able to cry about the loss of my amazing friend Joey. My grandfather passed the same week as Joey, so it was a bit of a shock. I was very close with Joey in high school and he looked over me as an older brother. Joey always brought the best out of people! It had been a while since I spoke with Joey, until I was woken up on a road trip with a surprising call from Joey Bartolucci. I told Patrick that he sounded like Joey, making me laugh every five mins, talking highly about his girl friend, and his most recent aspirations. Hontestly, Joey was one of the greatest people I have encountered in my life thus far. Joey believed in God and I know he will continually watch over us all.

I do not know your family and I never met your son but I share your pain deeply. I lost my 3 year old son October 10, 2008 in an ATV accident he drowned in a rock query behind my home. I am so glad that the Lord chose me to be Aaron's mom I had Aaron for 3 years 11 months 2 days and 12 hours to be exact and what a wonderful journey though very short. How I want so much more. I can see that your son has touched many lives. I go to a support group here in Ocala called Compassionate Friends, they have a website and it may be helpful to you and your family in your own time though. My prayers are with you all. Aaron touched many lives in his 3 years and everyone was drawn to him he sparkeld in a crowd, I know in my heart your son was the same. May God Bless you all.

University of Florida Golf Course, Hole 14, Par 4. Joey tops his tee shot, hitting it 5 feet in front of the women's tee box. Instead of letting it get to him, Joey pulls out a 3 iron, casually walks over to his ball, and hits a stinger under an oak tree and puts it 5 feet from the pin. He putts it in for birdie.
That's just what Joey did...He made every situation into something great.
After losing contact with him for more than 5 years, he is one of the few people that stepped up and helped me through the most difficult time of my life. Such an amazing person that will truly be missed.
