Joseph A. Berghoff

To all members of Joe's family,
Althugh I know words offer small comfort in the loss of Joe I do wish to expresss my sincere sympathy.

My husband, Richard J. Hoffman worked with Joe on the fire department and I remember how much respect he always had for Joe. He was certainly a fine man and a good firefighter and will surely be missed by all who knew him.

It is with great sadness that I learn of the death of Uncle Joe. He was for me as a young boy a very special and happy person of great vitality and I carried that image for the rest of my life. I remembered him working for my dad in the beer company and then his going off to World War II. I have a fond clear memory of Uncle Joe sending back to Dad in a letter a little piece of a splinter from a beer case which had imbedded under his finger nail while working for Dad and which he whittled out...

Dear Aunt Ginny and family:
Our sincere sympathy at the loss of Uncle Joe. It seems like such a short time ago that all of us were young; but time has moved rapidly. We are unable to attend the services as the weather is so bad and the over three hour drive is too much. Our prayers are with you and your family. May God Bless Each of you, and give you strength during this difficult time.
