Joseph Bernath The Celebration of the life of Joseph Bernath will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son, Alexandria, LA, with Rev. Johnny Green of Baltimore, Maryland officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, LA. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at John Kramer & Son. Joseph Bernath, age 66, formerly of Pineville, LA, residing in San Antonio, TX, completed his life on earth Friday November 9, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Esther Bernath; one brother, Frank Nicholas Bernath; four sisters, Margit Toth, Susan Johnson, Polly Sullivan and Anna Noormaa. Joe began life while his family was being taken to Concentration Camp during WWII, where he spent the first 3 years of his life. The Methodist Organization sponsored this family of 10 to come to the United States and begin a new life. They began their new life on McLemore Plantation in Alexandria, Louisiana where Joe spent his early life. He is a graduate of Albany High School in Albany Louisiana and Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. Joe served as President of Breath of Life Ministries, Inc. both nationally and internationally over the past 15 years. A major passion of his was 'Christ for India' and building a hospital in conjunction with Rev. Ranjit Abraham and New India Church of God. Prior to his duties as President of Breath of Life Ministries, Inc. he served as Minister of Youth and Associate Pastor for various Assemblies of God Churches in Louisiana, Arkansas, and North Carolina. He enjoyed fishing for relaxation but his main passion was the Word of God and telling everyone he met about what Christ had done in his life. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Hightower Bernath and three children, Joseph Stephen Bernath, Candace Michele Bernath and Sharon Christian Bernath along with two grandsons, Noah James Bernath and Lucas Payne Bernath, one sister JoAnn Arendash and one brother Steven Bernath as well as many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Frank Bernath, Jr., Mark Bernath, Paul Bernath, Peter Bernath, Billie Trammell, Rev. Justin Akers and Jim Cox. Honorary Pallbearer will be Steven Bernath.
