Lil, kids, grandkids: I want you to know that I continue to pray for you and will always. I talked with Art and Joe all the time. Joe spoke with love and admiration of his family always. He and Art are the most wonderful men I know besides my husband. Joe sent me many pictures of all of you. You are a beautiful strong family. Please know that he will be sadly missed. It was wonderful to know him and is almost as if I know all of you personally. God bless all of you.

I remember the pictures of Joe and our mother together as kids at the summer house. Mom has always told us about her wonderful, kind cousin Joe. She treasures her relationship with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Hirschy - Janie's daughter

Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Joe, I've heard many wonderful stories about him. My mother (cousin Janie) has always thought so highly of him, especially his heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

WHEN I SPOKE TO HIM WHEN HE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL LAST HE SAID HE WOULD BE COMING TO FL. It will be incredibly difficult to imagine our world without Joe. We looked forward to weekend phone calls with him, and especially our June visits with him. We'll never think of the Tick Tock Diner without thinking of Joe. He was so kind of heart and so gentle of spirit. We will continue to remember Joe by thinking that even though he cannot speak, he can still hear us, and even though he can't be seen, his presence is still with us. We hold him in our hearts, in our thoughts, and in...

joe bert had more style and charm than almost anyone ever.....i, like my sister, always knew everything about him from my dad art and my uncle joe and aunt jane for my whole life......but i know personally his beautiful heart, his wonderful stories and endless emails--funnies and photos!!....most especially, he shared what he loved best--his family--in every way he could whenever he could....that love lasts forever.....who could ask for a better angel?!?!?!?

Dear Bertolino Family, Words are never enough to comfort those grieving for a man as loved and respected as your husband and father. I was fortunate to spend some time with Joe when he visited Art and especially grateful that he made a trip to Florida for my grandson's Christening. He is in my prayers.
