Cousin Joe brought love, laughter and kindness into our lives. I cherish the memories of the moments we shared with him and his entire family. He will be missed, and always remembered in our hearts and prayers. Sending love and condolences to his family and friends.

My sincere sympathy to all the family and friends of "Cousin Joe". Joe is actually the first cousin of my mother, Frances (Kosidlo) Shantz, but he was always Cousin Joe to all of us. My brother Joe and my sister Joan were reminiscing with me about the trips he and Barbara made to visit us in Washington DC and the stories of the eventful train trips between Rome and Utica that Babci Kosidlo and Ciotka Bien use to make to visit each other. And Joe was thoughtful with his phone calls to...

I was privileged to have known Joe (Beanski) as we all called him in the Tool shop at Rome cable. I worked with him for 22 years and considered him a very close friend, but we lost touch after the job ending strike. I last saw him at Rome Hospital when he went to see his wife. and we talked awhile about old times. He used to make a cucumber dish with a special dressing that he would never give the recipe for to anyone, but if you wanted a bite you had to get there fast because everyone wanted...

Always enjoyed my talks with Joe. He filled in many voids of my fathers' youth as they were classmates, and my dad never talked about it. I quizzed him about Poland which he was always willing to talk about it. I even got several haircuts from him at the Post. Rest In Peace Joe you will always be in my prayers and thoughts!

Led a life of adventure while serving his country.

We are in deep and abiding grief over the tragic ending to a beautiful and difficult life which spanned the Great Depression, the World War II, and the transformation of American Society. We love Uncle Joe Bien (2nd gen Polish American) very much and thank him for being a second father to me after the passing of Augustine and Josephine (Bien) Racino in 1999 and 2001. He mourned with me over the death of my brother Terrance Racino in June 2020 in AZ, stood up for my sister Robin Scherer with...
