I was Lisbeth's friend in high school and Joe and I became good friends. I haven't seen Joe in a long time. I'm glad to see that he made it to 97. He was a good man, I'll always remember him. God bess.

I learned with great sadness that Dr. Brancato has passed away. I was privileged to be a student at South Philadelphia High from 1954-57 and had Dr. Brancato as one of my gym teachers. He as well as the other great phys ed teachers such as Joe Pitt, Ziddy Trautwein, Carl Galetta, and Dave DuBrow instilled in me a love of sports and a passion for fair play that have remained with me all of my life. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Brancato clan. I will never forget Joe.
