Not sure what to say?

I am in Florence and was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Joey's death. I can only echo what my son and Ken said: I am forever grateful to Joey. After graduating from U of I, Joey and I would see each other at the Northwestern Library when he was in law school and I was in graduate school there. He knew Kenny from the guard and suggested the fix up. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Joey was always a thoughtful guy and a pleasure to see. I am so sorry about this loss....

To the Breen family,

Though I only met Joey a couple times, I owe my life to him- he introduced my parents to each other (see Ken Levine's entry below). So without his eye for relationships I never would have been born. I am so sad to hear this news, and am very sorry for your loss.

Dearest Adrienne and family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I'll call you when I'm in cell range.

Fondly,

Mark and Claudia Lindstrom

Dear Adrienne and Family,
I was greatly saddened to hear about this tragic event. My family and I send our most heartfelt condolences.

Joey ( yes, not Joe) and I go way back- early 70's. Not a lot of people know that Joey had a long and very distinguished military career as a 6-year private in the Illinois National Guard during the Viet Nam era. Our heaviest combat duty was guarding our cars outside the North and Kedzie Armory against thieves breaking in for our tape...

Dear Adrienne, Michael, and Scott,
We are deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved husband and father. After hearing the eulogies at his funeral, it is crystal clear that Joe left supreme legacies with Michael and Scott. Joe's warm, loving character will live on with them.
We offer our most sincere sympathy.

Dear Adrienne, I First met Joe in 1977 at a law firm he was working at.I couldn't get over what a gentle, kind, and helpful man he was.Over the years we did business on occasions.Joe was a very special person,my deepest condolences to you and your sons.

To the Breen Family: I was shocked and saddened to hear of the news of the loss of your husband and father. Joe and I did business together - he worked with some of my clients and I with some of his. But most importantly, whenever we met, he always started off the conversation about his family; news of his children; and would always show me the latest picture which he said always included his beloved dog. He was a remarkable man, and I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are...

Adrienne, Michael and Scott:

I am greatly shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. I haven't seen Joe in 10 years since working with him at Pretzel, but I will always remember what a kind, generous and soft-spoken man he was.

The Wasilewski family sends their sympathies --
