Joe Brucker, after a long and tiresome battle with "the most vile of things", cancer, has left this world for his place in Heaven. Where he has joined, Walt, his dad, Liz, his mother, and Betty, his sister, to continue to watch over the people he loved. He is now watching over Deb "Swabe" Davis, his rock, his partner and heart, whom without her we don't even want to know where he'd have been. His "afflicted" children, in order of affliction: Jason Brucker and his wife Jennifer Brucker. His eldest and most afflicted daughter Jennifer Murphy her husband Johnny Murphy, Lindsey Brucker the third most favorite child and probably the second most trouble free, And Katie Brucker, the youngest and most rebellious, probably placed wrong on this list, but as the youngest she was spoiled enough so I am first this time! Lest I not forget Debs sons, Matthew and Noel Davis. We will forever miss our Dad, but we'll get to that later. Now to the list he held most dear, His grand kids. We will put them in order of age as i don't believe there is any affliction scale for these children. Fortunately, i believe, it skipped generations starting with the third. His Grand Children, Quentin "QT" Brucker his first grandson, Jaron Brucker was next up, then 9-10 days later, depending on your particular math, Brett "Bretty" Frye came into his world, and then, Noel's son Reilley Ferguson. These boys had a few years of Papaw's time and love before having to share. So a few years later, came Samuel Brucker followed shortly there after by his first and only Granddaughter, Sonny Shaw. Although their time with Dad was cut short and stolen by "the vilest of things", there was never any question of how much Papa, Papaw, Poppy Joe loved them. Even on his worst days he held tough so they wouldn't worry, we all did worry but not because he showed us any reason to. He has quite a few brothers and sisters, being of the Catholic persuasion it's not uncommon. Three elder Brothers Chris, Steve, and Jeff. Two elder and one younger sisters Kathy, Betty, and Mary, and two bonus sisters Carol and Leslie. Nieces and nephews into the double digits, cousins, and lifelong friends that he considered family. I could sit here and write names for a long time, i ain't a gonna, but i could. If you made a friend of Joe you knew it, and you are part of this list. Joseph Brucker was born in Fort Worth, to Walter And Elizabeth Brucker, December 28th, 1957. Thats about all i know till roughly 1975, when I was born. He then began his journey into adulthood, working to provide for his wife and children. He was thrice married, first to Cathy Sadowski had two children myself and Jenny, second to Leah Hale made two daughters, Lindsey and Katie, and finally to Deb "Swabe" Davis with whom he finished his journey. He worked as a mechanic all his life, many years at Winter's S&S in downtown FT. Worth, And Cowtown Gear also in Ft. Worth. There were a few other places but these two hold the most significance, as it was these places that he spent the greatest part of his life working with lifelong friends, his second family if you will, The Mullenixes Mike, Linda, Michelle, Monica, and Lil Mikey. Forever grateful to them, but don't tell Linda. His war with "the most vile of things" began in '05 with the first bout actually won that battle and got a brand new used bladder out of it, had quite a few years between battles the second and final fight started the end of 2019. He fought hard and suffered valiantly, until his body and mind had had enough. I feel he made his peace with God and welcomed eternal life in Heaven. He was surrounded by family and friends in his last days with us. He hung around till i am guessing his room was ready up there, or till it got hot when the A/C decided to go out in the house. He said heck with this I ain't sweating anymore. That leads me back to this, Joe, Dad, Papa, Papaw, Poppy, whatever name you knew him by, will be terribly missed and remembered for the rest of the lives of anyone that knew him. He seemed to have something that when people met him they liked him, a spirit that attracted and uplifted those who were fortunate enough to actually know him. I am fortunate enough to have spent 45 years as his only son, I loved him my whole life and will for the rest of it. From a Hebrew Proverb Say not in grief 'He is no more' But in thankfulness 'He was' In lieu of a formal service we will be planning a memorial in near future, when it is again safe to go outdoors and be near people, something more informal and befitting of his personal style and memory. Please feel free to share your stories, memories, pictures, anything you please. There is a link in the Multimedia section to our Google Picture collection. Feel free to add a pic there if you please.

Dad it's so hard out here. I feel like I'm drowning most of the time. I wish you were here. I miss you so much. Sam's doing great. And I'm living here at Debs. I just got a job today. I just wish I could hear your laugh one more time. Or hear you say 'kookie'. You were my rock. My superhero. And I know I will see you again one day.

Joe was always fun to be around. As a younger cousin I thought he "was the coolest". He will be missing by all that knew him.

Joe was my first love, my husband and was my best friend. We were inseparable. We married (young) had two beautiful children, Jason and Jennifer. Unfortunately we had our unreconsilable differences and parted ways. But, together we raised two of the best kids. I will always be grateful for the short time we had and the fond memories I have. Rest in Peace Joe Brucker

What a moving tribute to your dad and to you too Jason. It shows what a fine man he raised. My heart is sad for you all. I know how the grandkids love him too. I lift you all in prayer.
