Joseph J Bruno a lifelong resident of Pittsburg passed away peacefully on April 27th in his home. He retired with 30 years of service from the Pittsburg Unified School District. He served in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He was the center of all family activities and will be truly missed by all. He was devoted to his grandchildren, and great granddaughters. Survived by daughters Rosalie Bruno Tamayo and Kathleen Antonacci (Joseph), Son Joseph Bruno III. Grandchildren Joseph Bruno IV (Joshara). Joseph, Jonathan (Erika) Tamayo. Joseph (Nicole), Jacqueline and Julianna Antonacci. Richard (Angela), Michael Tamayo. Michelle Tamayo Bristol (Mark); Great Granddaughters Karina Tamayo and Gianna Rose Antonacci. Sister Grace Shoup (Bill) Brother Frank Bruno. Preceded in death by his wife Vivien McCoy Bruno, and parents Joseph and Rosalie Bruno. Sister Pat Buffo (Sal), Sister in law Mary Bruno and Son in law Richard Tamayo.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 4:00pm with a vigil at 7:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy Thursday May 3, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Peter Martyr Church. Committal services following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
