Joseph Buczkowski, age 76, of Lavallette, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born and raised in Mountainside, NJ he moved to Lavallette in the 1960s. He was a self-employed engineer. Joseph served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Metedeconk River Yacht Club, the American Legion, the Moose, the VFW and was also a volunteer fireman with the Ocean Beach Fire Co. #3 for 25 years. Joseph was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 53 years Joan (Zydycryn) Buczkowski; two sons Joseph Buczkowski and his wife Dina of Virginia Beach, VA and Michael Buczkowski and his wife Meghan of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ; and 5 grandchildren Zachary, Ashley, Tessa, Jules and Cole.

Visiting hours are Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head. Cremation will be private. Donations in Joseph's name can be made to your favorite charity. Joan, Joey, Michael, so sorry to learn of Joe's passing. Brother-in-law for 20 yrs, friend for life. Husband, father, god father, grandfather...army vet, businessman, firefighter...he wore so many hats, and all very well. Shared his cars, boats and airplanes, and always there when I needed a hand or advice. He will be missed by all of us who loved him.
