BUFFA, Joseph James; Age 83; Passed away peacefully at Fenton Health Care, Saturday, May 26, 2012; Born Flint, MI April 30, 1929; Attended St. Michaels Catholic School, Flint. Married the love of his life Elaine DeSerres April 7, 1951; Served two years with Michigan National Guard. Served in the U.S. Army during Korean War. Stationed at Fort Warden, Port Townsend, WA. Retired from General Motors-Buick Motor Division. Worked several years as machine repairman then as supervisor. Joe was a long time parishioner of St. Marys, Flint. Devoted parish member deeply involved with the parish family. After moving to Davisburg, Joe & Elaine became members of St Daniels, Clarkston. Joe enjoyed many hobbies and activities. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. The family would like to give special appreciation to all the staff at Fenton Healthcare. Father of Joseph, Christine Branch, Denise Maxwell, John, Robert, Tamara Harbin and Dennis. Grandpa of Ryan & Joshua Maxwell, Lisa (Erinn) Beckner, Bobby (Lisa) Buffa, Stacey (Adam) McEwen, Rachel, Jacob & Neil Harbin, Joshua & Kyle Buffa. Great Grandpa of Maria, Avery & Caitlyn. Many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Antonia, siblings: Leonard, Marietta Buffa-Tacey, Antonina Whitson, Leona Ross, Frances Bracken, Giacomo Jack Aurino & Agnes Branoff and his grandson Nathan. Friends may visit at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston Wednesday 4:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass Thursday 10:00 a.m. at St. Daniel Catholic Church, Clarkston with visitation directly at the church Thursday 9am until time of mass. Rite of Committal New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Memorials may be made to Parkinson Foundation.

Dear Elaine and my nieces and nephews, I am so sorry for your loss. Joe was a good man with a great sense of humor. His devotion to his family, along with his deep faith, defined him. I know you will miss him terribly, but I am certain he will watch over each of you.

Dearest Buffa Family, I am so sorry for your loss my god watch over each and everyone of you in this darkest hour and know he's in a much better place looking down on each and everyone of you.
