Joseph Burke

I first came into the orbit of the Burke family when I worked with Joe´s first wife Cecelia at the UMKC bookstore in the mid 1980´s. Cecelia drew me in and, before I knew it, I had another whole family that has come to mean the world to me. Although I have been particularly close to Terry, Maureen, and Peggy over the many years since, it was actually Michael who registered me for my hotel room for his wedding me as "Scott Burke". I have such fond memories of camping with Joe, Cecelia and their six children, Jerry, Terry, Maureen, Peggy, Pat and Michael. Terry and I have been friends since first grade at St. Peter´s. Joe and Cecelia were so kind and inclusive after my father passed away when I was 12. I will never forget that for the past several years Terry visited her dad every day at the nursing home. May he rest in peace now.
