Not sure what to say?

In the Autumn of 1980 during my first semester, junior year at the University of Notre Dame, I had the great, good fortune to be a member of Professor Buttigieg´s History of Literary Criticism course. Although Professor Buttigieg and I differed over the Anatomy of Criticism by Northrop Frye, his course continues to have a poignant place in my intellectual life. I must apologize for the lateness of my posting of condolences and sympathies to the Buttigieg family; however, please know Professor...

I was moved to tears, today, as Pete spoke of his family, and wanted to learn more about the type of man who would have raised and influenced such a kindhearted and service-oriented person.

My deepest condolences to the Buttigieg family.

So sorry for your loss.

May Mr. Buttigieg Rest in Peace.

Respectfully,Michael Reilly

I am deeply saddened to learn of Prof Buttigieg's passing. His meticulous scholarship on Gramsci had tremendous impact on me as a grad student and continues to this day. I was honored to hear him speak at conferences and was always struck by his generosity and joyful being. Sincere condolences to his family. Jeanette McVicker

Our deepest sympathies for the Buttigieg family

I am so sorry for the loss of your father and husband. I do enjoyed talking with him. It was on offer the joys of working with your friends and family. See you at The Morris Inn.

The news of Joe's passing shocked and saddened me. I own him as a friend, as fine scholar and as a gentleman. He is sorely missed. Joe was a remarkable man, of vast knowledge, humble, and respectful to all. Thank you Joe for your legacy.
Sincere condolences to his dear family, his joy and pride. May his soul rest in peace.
