My deepest sympathy goes out to the Calabrese family with the passing of Joe. Echoing the sentiments of those who new Joe, he will always be remembered for his genuine love of family and friends. I’m fortunate to have spent sometime with him at high school reunions. Distance and time did not diminish the bond that we shared growing up in Verona. Joe’s passing reminds us all of what is most important. Always hold family and friends close to your heart, time together is all too brief.

Our family was heartbroken to hear of Joe's passing. He was always larger than life for my brother and I when we were all kids, and Mom considered all of the Douglas Place gang family for life. We have so many wonderful memories, almost 60 years worth of joy, laughter and love with our friend. Joe's laugh, his smile and his voice will forever be imprinted in our hearts.
