Not sure what to say?

just sitting here wishing i could call you

Darlene & family,
Joe has provided many memories for us and I can always picture him with a smile on his face. He gave off a very positive energy and you just felt better being around Joe. We will deeply miss him on our trips up to Chicago.

Joe was one of the kindest people I had ever met. I considered him like a Grandpa to me, in that I couldn't wait to enjoy his company again, and to see that fantastic smiling face. He brought a lot of joy to my family, and also helped us through some hard times. He truly was a great man, and many would want to model themselves after him. Where ever we go to beyond here, I only hope to see him again! May his soul run free, peacefully and sick free too! Truly an inspiration to my life, I...

Darlene and Family,

Tracey, the Kids and I are terribly sorry to hear of Joe's passing.

I feel very lucky to have known Joe. His friendly way, drive, and geniune concern for others was like few who I have ever met. He was the type of man I hope I can grow to be.

Even now writing this I can't help but to smile as I think back to the conversations he and I had when he was cutting my hair, or the times you guys visited us in AZ. We will miss Joe, but we will always have...

I'm very sorry to hear about Joe Calomino. I first met Joe in 1978, when I came to District #3 (Chicago). Joe always had a smile for you and never treated you like the new guy on the force. I know he will be surely missed by family and friends.

Dear Darlene and Family,
We will definitely miss the warm smile and voice of our dear friend, Joe. Dom will miss the haircuts and the joy of being with Joe. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. We will never forget how he personally helped Margaret during her cancer treatments and how he went out of his way to give Cameron his first haircut. Joe said it was an honor. Well Joe, it has been an honor to know you and we will miss you until we see you again. We will watch over Darlene...

I’m very sorry to hear about Joe’s final “Code 402” (end of shift/off duty).
I first met Joe in the early 1970s when I was a young Trooper in Dist. #3 and he was teaching a class to us new kids. I was impressed with his sharp appearance and honesty. He was always friendly and willing to help out the young Troopers of the District. He was a great role model and inspiration to us all. I most recently saw Joe at another Trooper’s retirement party last year. He was as friendly, cheerful...

Growing up across the street from the Calomino family was great. If it wasn't hearing Joe's voice to quit jumping on the bed it was time spent waiting for him to pull up in a squad car. Our parents formed a card club and kept it going for over 40 years. The friendship they formed when younger taught all of us how to continue that throughout our lives. We are many years away from Lockwood but in my heart that's where I remember Joe best. He was my dad's buddy and part of my family. There was...

I only knew Joe from the barber shop, but I found him to be a man to model myself after. His kindness and genuine interest in others was special. I will miss him.....
