Will always keep the memory dear to me. I always left feeling better than when I came in, He had that type of personality. We always shared our goings on in the family with one another and I still miss that time. I counted him as a good friend and will continue to do that. What a blessing to have had him as my Dr. and friend. God bless the family and know that I think of him often

I was a intermittent patient of Dr. Carter's, because I only rarely needed an ENT and today when I looked online to call to make an appt I was stunned to hear of his passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I compare all my Doctors to Dr. Carter and Dr R Hostoffer because in my mind they epitomize what a doctor should be. I know he is with his Lord but his church, his family and his patients have lost immeasurably

Dear Alison,
I hope this finds you. I just recently found out about Dr. Carter's passing. He was my doctor when I lived in Cleveland, as a child with chronic ear issues. He was such a loving man and I am devastated to hear of his passing. He inspired me so much that I am now a third year Speech & Hearing Science student at The Ohio State University and hope to go on to study Audiology. I wanted to reach out to your husband and thank him for having such an impact on me and my life ...

Dear Alison,
i was Joe's roommate at Phi Chi fraternity. We lived together for almost two years. The attic room if you remember. John Decker shared your loss with me. I am sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I recall both of you fondly. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Alison, you may not remember me but I was a frat mate of Joe back at Phi Chi 40 years ago. I just read of Joe's passing in the Minnesota medical journal this week [April 2017]. Nothing in the tributes surprises me because Joe was always the nicest guy that I knew. Everyone knew he was compassionate and a wonderful physician. He also had a brilliant inventive and mechanical mind. As a family practitioner, one often hears compliments about one's primary care doc. It takes a special type of...

There are no words that I can say that will take your families pain away ,so I won't. I will say that my daughter hears because of Dr.Carter.He performed her first surgery at the age of two and performed four others after that. She is now 17 . We have never met a more compassionate, funny, happy, concerned person or Doctor ever until him. Our family is truly heartbroken by his passing especially my daughter. May your family find peace in knowing that he was truly wonderful and irreplaceable.

Dr Carter made such a difference in our son's life when he performed 4 ear tube surgeries, we have photos of him at the hospital. A truly caring and human man, we are devastated to hear of his sudden death.
A giant of a doctor beloved by his patients.

Dr. Carter was the best doctor that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was my doctor for 20 years, from the time I was 10 up until he passed. He performed both of my surgeries, and helped me through all of the physical pain I experienced throughout the years. He always put my mind at ease and let me know that he would do the very best that he could to make sure I stayed as healthy as I could and without as much pain as possible. I am at a loss for words, as I just learned of his...
