Joseph C. Cassioppi, 93, of Loves Park, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. Born October 1, 1924 in Rockford, IL. Son of Paul and Marguerite (Calcagno) Cassioppi. Veteran of the United States Army. United in marriage to the love of his life Patricia Anderson on January 22, 1966. She predeceased him on March 3, 1996. Employed as a Machinist at various employers having retired from Central Metal Cut. During his retirement he became employed at the YMCA and retired from there as well. He found enjoyment in dancing, bowling, renting cabins up in Wisconsin to go fishing0, traveling and driving his car.

He is survived by his children, Judy Lynn Cassioppi, JoAnn (Tim) Donoghue, Roxanne (Steve) Hill, Joe Cassioppi; grandchildren, Jason (Carri) Blades, Bronwyn Peterson, Kevin (Amy) Armstrong, Elizabeth Armstrong, Douglas Hill, Zachary Hill, Benjamin Hill, Brooklyn Cassioppi; sister, Ann (Mose) Galluzzo; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded by parents; wife, Patricia; sons, Paul Cassioppi, Clint Cassioppi; siblings, Marie (Jasper) DiBenedetto, George Cassioppi.

Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Father Jacobs is officiating. Visitation at 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial following services in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Sure going to miss you Grandpa Joe!!! I'll never forget our breakfast "dates" or just riding around because you were bored. I know you and my Dad are having a great time up there!!! Love you always!!!
