He cared about the McKee's Beach community and was a gracious friend of John and Virginia Simpson and their family Cathy, Chris, Karen, Craig and Connie. We will miss him every time we walk by his garden. The sweet peas he grew for anyone to pick will still bloom, but the beach will not be the same without him.

I interviewed Joseph Chrobuck for my 2008 book, Pe Ell's Polish Heritage. I am considerably younger at 86, so I didnt know him as a child in Pe Ell. My mother used to give me two bits to go to their house and get a haircut from Joseph's mother. Joseph reminisced about is friendship with classmate Charles Martin who was killed in WWII. He was not very forthcoming about his illustrious Marine Corps career,but I am happy to read about it in the obit.
