Deacon Joseph Benjamin Collier, a lifetime resident of Mobile, Alabama, departed this life on January 9, 2022, at a local hospital. He was a member of the Yorktown Missionary Baptist Church, Plateau, Alabama where he faithfully served in various positions before his health failed. He was a graduate of Mobile County Training School, Class of 1957. He also was a veteran of the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia H Collier; 3 Children, Regina (Richard) Cook, Nelson (Dorothy) Curtis, and Brenda (Larry) Edwards; 3 sisters, Geraldine (Robert) Benefield, Linda Arnold, Marion Smythe; 2 sisters-in-law, Leslie Hawthorne, Annie (Carl) Dale; 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Benefield, and Alfred Hawthorne; 7 Grandchildren, and 11 Great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5PM until 6PM on Friday January 14, 2022, at Reese Funeral Home, visitation will continue Saturday January 15, 2022, from 11AM until the 12 Noon funeral hour at Reese Funeral Home Chapel 925 S Bessemer Ave Prichard, AL 36610. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery at 800 Mobile St. Mobile, AL. Arrangements entrusted to the careful direction of Reese Funeral Home.
