Not sure what to say?

I was a dispatcher for CALSTAR from 1991 to 1996-97. American Medical Response Ambulance (AMR) had the contract to dispatch CALSTAR I from Concord and later CALSTAR II from Gilroy. I only met Mr. Cook a couple of times but he was not only professional but warm and friendly as well. I will never forget those days and nights when the helicopter was transporting newborn babies from one hospital to the next, mostly Children's Oakland, and injured or sick patients to the area hospitals. The flight...

It was a brief friendship that I'll never forget. The professionalism he showed Donna and the kindness he always showed me. There are a set of water skis waiting for us to go out again on the water in Heaven. God Bless you and comfort those left behind.

I first met Joe and his lovely wife Nancy at a Hail and Farewell for CDEC at Fort Ord, CA, through my parents, Phil and Barbara Redman. I also knew and hung out with a handful of Joe's fellow pilots from 155th Aviation Company. He was a friendly, fun loving, loyal man and well liked by all who worked with him. I just found out that Joe had passed and wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to Nancy and family. His lose leaves a huge hole in our hearts.

I just recently learned of Joe's passing. I wanted to take this moment to remember the wonderful man who I always refer to as the "kindest boss I ever worked for." Joe was a man of integrity and loyalty, and his excellent character shone through in everything he did. The world was a better place for having had Joe in it, and he will always be remembered by me, and so many others who had the pleasure of working for, and with, him for so many years. Beyond being my employer, Joe was a mentor...

I have known Joe almost as long as his sisters. We met and were good friends in high school, and later rented a house together while studying at the University of Delaware. Nancy and Joe introduced me to my now wife, Lucy, at the U of DE. He was my best man and I was his. I will never forget his laugh and his dependable friendship. He professed his faith in our Savior Jesus, so I know I will see him again. God Bless Nancy and family. Lucy and I send our love.

Rest in peace Joe. Sincere condolences to the Cook family. Joe was one of a kind person, boss, and mentor to many of us at Calstar. He was the BEST CEO I have ever worked for. His kindness, compassion and ethics, were a model to everyone that ever met him. We Love you Joe and you will be truly missed. Fly With the Angels. Mark Alley and family.

There are 40,000 folks out there that might not be here if not for Joe Cook. He made every flight possible. He was CALSTAR.

God bless it Joe! What a wonderful man... Forged many a path for me and others. I came back to CALSTAR because of this man and his ethics. No other home has felt the same. I have loved you and Nancy from the moment we first met, and thank the lord in being blessed to be a part of your world. You will always be in my heart. Safe travels Joe! Kris
