Not sure what to say?

I met Joe Coyle in 1957 and was always in awe of his ability to make people laugh. In 1971, I became his sister-in-law when I married his brother, Dennis. Aside from my husband, he was my favorite Coyle. During summers at Cedar Grove Beach Club in New Dorp, Joe and I spent many hours playing tennis and sharing laughs. He was the most entertaining raconteur I ever knew. He is missed by many.

Joe was my best friend in Xavier High School. We had many good times there. Did not socialize much after that our lives just drifted apart. Sad to know he died. The price of our mortality. With each new death of old friends a part of us dies to. Until.......

I just found this and am deeply sorry to the Coyle family. I too had Mr Coyle for Math in IS 7 in the earlier 70's and also as a homeroom teacher. He was a great teacher and I know he touched my life in a very good way as well as others, I just never got back to tell him thanks! Hopefully he left someone behind 1/2 as good as he was I dont think there could be another as good. Rest In Peace and My God give peace when needed to his family

My condolences to the Coyle family. I had the pleasure of being one of Mr. Coyle's students at I.S. 7 in the mid-eighties. He was a good friend and a great teacher. I will always remember him as one of the most inspiring, gentle, funny and educated men I knew. May he rest in peace!

Dear Jane,

We are so sad to hear about Joe. We felt privileged to know such a kind and gentle man and we will miss him. Please know that you and your family are in our hearts.

I was a child looking up to Joey Coyle during the early '60's. Being a shadow of his youngest sister Annmarie he drove us once in his Orange Convertible MG to Dairy Queen and we held him to it each season - it was the greatest thrill to be with him / the oldest brother. To all the Coyles, my deepest sympathies, Meg Shelley and on behalf of all the Shelley's - CGBC 1962 - 1984

Mydeepest condolences to the Coyle Family.

Mr Coyle was a good man & a Great Math Teacher. He really knew how to connect with Children & could make somthing so complicated seem so simple.
