Not sure what to say?

It has been 16 years and I still think of Joe often. I only knew him a short time as a friend of friends, but in that time he made quite an impression. He was wounded, but bore his wounds with dignity and without pretense, and never let those wounds dim the light of his optimism and love for life, and his family, and his friends. His life was a gift, and after all this time I can only see his absence as a gift as well.

I just read about Joe and his play in the paper today. I went to Eastern with Joe and Mike...we were all in band together. I had to change schools my senior year and lost touch, but I will never forget the memories I have with Joe. All of the off-the-wall games and the endless laughter....and I never could have made it through Physics without him!!!

May his legacy continue for years to come and may he continue to be an inspiration.

Joseph's family,
I just got done reading the article in todays courier journal paper. Although I never knew Joseph, I am deeply touched by his courage and need to help others by sharing his cancer experience with others. I was diagnosed with Leukemia on January 2005. Since then I have been open with sharing my story to help raise awareness and to educate others. I will actually be out of town on the days of the play (I will be in Seattle for my one year checkup for my stemcell...

After just hearing the news about Joe's passing I am deeply saddened. I didnt know Joe as well as most of the others who have left comments on here, but what interactions I had with him at Hanover were sincere and pleasant. He contributed a great deal to society which will last past those very moments he created. My thougths go to Joe's family and other friends.

I was incredibly saddened to hear of Joe's death. He was a wonderful person, and my heart goes out to his family. In thinking back on the memories I have of Joe from Hanover, they all bring a smile to my face. From playing "Survivor" in room 3 - one of Joe's many game suggestions - to camping out behind the Fine Arts building, Joe never took life too seriously. And of course, he had that incredible gift for making others laugh regardless of their prior mood. He undoubtedly brought smiles...

Dear Crosser Family,

My family and I are saddened to have learned that Joey passed away. We were good friends while at Trinity Presbyterian Church all those many years. Joey and I were in youth group and Sunday school together. I have many memories of Joey and his family. We lost touch after my family and I moved. We no longer attend Trinity but try to remain in contact with families. My family and I send our sympathy to the family. Tom, Brenda, Kristin, Amber, and Ansley...

Joe and I were classmates since the 6th grade. He was always so witty and so brilliant. Although I had not seen much of Joe in our adult life, I often heard of how he was doing and the obstacles he had overcome. I will remember Joe as the guy who could find something funny to say in any situation. He had a wonderful spirit and will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Joe and I went to Eastern high together. I'll always remember him from band, quick recall, and the incomparable JCFC. He was a great guy to know and will be greatly missed.

I would like to send my regards to Joe's family. He was a wonderful man and I will never forget our time in LXA together. He will never be forgotten.
