Not sure what to say?

I am sad to see the passing of such a fine man as Joe Cummings. He was my favorite Scout Master in Haven Ward. I loved that man and enjoyed the activities that he took us on. He was a great Scout Master and a wonder Deacon's Quorum Advisor. He loved us boys and we loved him. May the Lord bless Joye and the rest of the family in this sad time.

Sincerly,
Rick Mecham

I was so sad to hear of Mr. Cummings passing. He was my 3rd grade teacher at Sandy Elementary. I learned many things from him, but most of all I learned how to recognize and appreciate my own personal talents. He made a big difference in my life and those of my fellow students. He has certainly left his mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I had Mr. Cummings as my 6th grade teacher at Sandy Elementary from 1962-1963. He was by far the best teacher I had in my schooling experience. He was able to detect that the normal math curriculum was not meeting my needs, so he found a "blue-colored" book of math/algebra and would send me to a private corner in the classroom each day so I would be able to excel. For this, I will ever be indebted to him. What a marvelous teacher! Although you are gone from us, your impact will forever live...

My sympathies to the Cummings family. I had Mr Cummings as my third grade teacher 30 years ago at Sandy Elementary. He instilled in me a lifelong love of "white elephant" parties. He would bring treats and all the "white elephant" presents and we would have a ball! He was a wonderful teacher and person-the world is a sadder place. May all the good memories comfort you at this time.

I have always had Mr. Cummings in my heart since I first had him as a teacher at Copperview. He was one of those people who really make a difference out there. Their passion to teach, love, respect children. He seen my pain as a child and showed me what a true person real is. He stands for all that is great. I feel fortunate to have been a pupil of such a honorable man. May god bless you in your time of great loss.

"Mr. Cummings," as I knew him, was my third grade teacher in 1976. What a wonderful man. I am still fascinated by his unusual canoe, and I can still remember some of the words to "Old Black Joe." It was a pleasure to have known him.

Joan, Matthew, Michelle and I are very saddened by the passing of Uncle Joe. We loved him dearly and regret that we could not spend more time with him and the family. We love you Aunt Joy and greatly appreciate the many days, months and years that you and Uncle Joe spent with George and Lois and especially for the way you took care of them. Big Toe Little Toe, that’s all……….

Love Larry, Joan, Matthew and Michelle

It's a very sad day for the family, and past students of Mr. Cummings. He was my 5th grade teacher in 1983, and the best teacher I had through all 13 years of school.
We often called him Grandpa Joe, because that was just how he came across to his students.
He will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I AM TRULY SORRY FOR THE CUMMINGS FAMILY, THE WORLD LOST A GREAT MAN. MY HEART ACHES FOR ALL OF YOU.

I was Joe's Principal at Midvalley Elementary School. He was a very good man and I extend my love and sympathy to family and friends at this time. God Bless a good teacher
