Anyone who worked under Joe when he was a "hall keeper"on the 4to12 at Somers knew he was a great man and officer.

I grew up next to the Danek family. Mr. Danek was always nice and friendly. I feel bad for his daughters and wife. Sorry I cannot be there for you Mrs Danek but you are in my heart and prayers. Mr Danek was a good father and husband as well as a neighbor.

If all men were as stand-up as Joe, this world would be a much better place. I worked with Joe for over twenty years and learned from him how to be a good person. My heart goes out to Joe's Family. RIP Brother....

I worked with Joe at Somers Prison in the early eighties. I remember being caught up in the middle of a fray in the hospital yard during a disturbance. I recall Joe (hall keeper) running in helping me get out. I'll never forget that!! R.I.P. brother!!
