Not sure what to say?

Rest in peace Shipmate. It was a pleasure serving beside you!

There is hardly a day that I don't think of Joe and the things he taught me as a young sailor. He sure was a great guy. Bill Bauder a USS CADMUS shipmate

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always Joe. Joe was a wonderful guy. I served with him on the USS Cadmus in the late 60's. We made many trips from the ship home and to this day I can always remember his smile and when I hear some of the Oldies he loved I just choke up. You and Joe came to my parents house in North Plainfield about 1969, a visit that thrilled me and my parents. He was a super role model and treated me like a son. He was a WONDERFUL guy...

he was one of the best division officers I ever served under.

Maureen - I just heard of Joe's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great guy and I enjoyed working with him at Earl. I wasn't a shipmate, but darn near close and for having known him I am very grateful. Know that Joe, you, and your family will be in my prayers.

Mo -- I don't know if you remember me but my name is Shawn and I was the logroom Yeoman on the Vulcan when Joe was the MPA. I watched your kids a couple of times when you and Joe went out. I am devastated to hear about this and you have my heartfelt sympathy. Joe was one of my top three favorite officers I worked for in the Navy and I can't tell you how sorry I am.
