Not sure what to say?

I was an 8th grader in Northern California when Joe Dedora was setting high school records, and I'll never forget seeing this guy run: he balanced forward so far, and balanced there so gracefully, and he had so much power in his stride- it was like watching a god of the wind or something. First time I saw him run, I was so spellbound by his speed I couldn't even speak.

Remember his battles with a guy named Lawson from Pittsburg- unbelievable speed- and I'm sure they're both ranked high...

One of the best track athletes our area ever had.

I was a participant at the NCS meet in Santa Rosa in 71 when Joe set the 440 record. Everyone else in the field looked as though they were standing still as Joe did indeed fly around the track...to this day one of the most exciting races I have ever witnessed. Thank you Joe!

My condolences and thanks to his family for their hospitality to me while I dropped in uninvited to his memorial. I met Joe as a competitor at a track meet in 1970 and was amazed at his accomplishments. I met him again at Safeway Petaluma and he was still a regular guy and a gentleman. God speed, Joe.

I think about the track meets back at SRHS when I was there. I would just be amazed at the way you just "Flew By"!! You will always be remembered, not only for your "speed", but for your friendships with so many others. Such a great guy, Joe! You will be greatly missed. May you Rest in Peace.

I'm truly sorry to hear about Joe, He was a character and a great co-worker. I worked with Joe at the Safeway store in Petaluma and I will always remember the Bronco II he drove with the license plate that read "Its Xmas". I wish his family well in these times.

Our deepest condolences to Joe's family and especially to Angie, his wife. If any two people were meant to be together it was, Joe and Angie. Their personalities seemed to compliment each other. They were in my opinion, truly "soul mates"! We will miss you Joe!

I think we are all stunned by the loss of Joe. Anyone who watched Joe run, was awestruck. Off the track, he was just a great guy. My heart hurts for his family and friends. I am so glad I knew I him.
