Joe you are so loved. So many people yesterday honoring you was just amazing. You touched so many people. Miss and love you.

Joe, you would have loved seeing all the people who gathered yesterday to remember and love you. Lots of martinis and lemon drops going down. We spread the light!

Joe was my teacher and friend since the early seventies... a heck of a nice guy, he will be terribly missed...

Sending our condolences for the heartbreaking loss of Joe. We know how beloved he was and how he will be missed.

I first really met Joe years ago when he invited me over for martinis with Kurt Kettenburg, and honestly, I was nervous, because I knew this was a test/initiation, they were both more experienced teachers, more in tune with the nuances of gin, better and more fluent conversationalists, and had been pals for decades. On the kitchen counter was a neon-light martini glass. Of course, they were both gentlemen, funny, wise and generous - the next day at school I gave them both a photo of dozens...

I KNEW JOE HIS SON AND GRADUATED WITH MY CONDOLENCES TO U JOE. YOUR DAD WAS A GREAT TEACHER AND ADVISOR.

i was a student of Mr. Devln at piner high school 86-87 he was very great teacher. he always accidentlly would call me dennis though its denise.. personal joke but he got it right wow, im really gonna miss him. best teacher i had and the teacher who told me i can do it an be anything long as i put it to use in my future... sincerly DENISE (LOCKE) - Wenderoth class of 87 piner high
