Not sure what to say?

Joe was a mentor & friend to my husband Bruce, who went on to play for the St. Louis Cardinals, minor league. It was wonderful to keep in contact with Joe & Rose over the years! Hopefully, they are having a catch in heaven! Debby Henderson

JOE WAS . AN OUTSTANDING PERSON WHO I KNEW AS A FELLOW STUDENT AND TEAM MATE AT CORTLAND. ENJOYED HIS SENSE OF HAND HIS COMPETIVENESS AS AN ATHLETE AND COACH. HIS SENSE OF HUMOR WAS PRICELESS. IT HELPED US GET THROUGH THE RIGORS OF BASIC TRAINING AT PARRIS ISLAND AND THE YEARS AFTER IN THE RESERVES. HE WAS A GOOD MAN. JOHN DELUCA

Mr. "D" first introduced me to play freshman basketball at NHP Memorial H.S. in '66 and was responsible for me later becoming Varsity MVP and Team Captain, 1969, under Coach ['...The Fox'] Moran. My deep condolences to his family as Mr. D was a SWELL kind person and a super coach. Thank you and God Bless, Mr. Dondero.

JOE AND I ATTENDED CORTLAND SUNY TOGETHER, PLAYED SOCCER TOGETHER. HE WAS AN OUTSTANDING SOCCER PLAYER MAKING THE ALL-STATE TEAM IN 1957. WE WERE TOGETHER AT PARRIS ISLAND AND IN THE USMC RESERVES FOR SIX YEARS. I ADMIRED HIS SUCCESS IN TEACHING AND COACHING. HE WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL AND WAS ADMIRED BY HIS ATHLETES. HE ALWAYS HAD A WONDERFUL RAPPORT WITH HIS ATHLETES AND HIS OPPONENTES AS WELL. HE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY,

I was graduated from PARRIS ISLAND, SC with Joseph back in 1959; a stalwart and dependable friend that I will continue to remember and keep in my prayers. God bless you Joseph, and God speed on your journey.

NCC 83-85. Joe D gave me an opportunity to pitch for his team. He was a special man and coach. He will be deeply missed.

My deepest sympathy to Rose & family for the loss of a wonderful man! My husband Bruce played baseball & football for Coach Dondero at Nassau Community College 1968-69. Joe Dondero & Jim Weinman were coaches Bruce looked up to & was grateful for their guidance! He will be missed by many!
