Spinelli - Ricciuti Funeral Home - Ansonia Obituary

ANSONIA: Joseph R. “Jo-Jo” Dorosh Jr., age 34, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on November 7, 2020 at Griffin Hospital with his parents by his side.

Joseph was born in New Haven on April 5, 1986, beloved son of Joseph R. Dorosh Sr. and Janice Reilly Dorosh of Ansonia. He graduated in 2004 from Platt Technical High School in Milford and attended New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island. In his sophomore year of high school, he became President of the school’s newly formed Robotics team and competed for their first time in the US FIRST Robotics competition in Virginia and won Rookie of the Year for the Northeast Region. Later, in his senior year, he placed first in Connecticut in the VICA Skills USA Manufacturing Technology competition and went on to place 13th in the nation. While in high school, he was chosen to participate in the internship program at Sikorsky Aircraft where he eventually went to work in the Quality Control Lab. Also, while in high school, he was chosen by his teachers and peers to be a member of the Peer Mediation Board because of his fairness and ability to listen. He was a member of the Ansonia Rod & Gun Club and Boy Scouts.

Jo-Jo will forever be remembered for his love of people, his loyalty, his work ethic and sense of fairness. Family and friends were always first and foremost to him and he showed it in everything he did. His ability to make people feel better and bring humor to a situation was what his family and friends came to depend on and will miss. To many, he was their hero.

In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory, a loving sister, Jessica M. Tellmann (Jeffrey Jr.) of Cheshire, paternal grandmother, Evelyn Ragaini Dorosh of Beacon Falls, several aunts and uncles, especially James Reilly (Suzanne) of Sandy Hook, nephew, Parker Tellmann, niece, Emma Tellmann, many cousins, as well as best friends, among them being Jason and his daughter Chelsea, Jay, Jimmy, Mike and Ricky. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Leonard Dorosh Sr., maternal grandparents, Raymond and Dorothy Bulmer Reilly and uncle and Godfather, Steven M. Reilly.

A walk through visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday November 13, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Masks are required and physical distancing is expected. On Saturday at 10:00 am, a funeral service in celebration of Joseph’s life will take place in the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey Gubbiotti officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Riverside Cemetery in Shelton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ansonia Animal Shelter, 1 North Division Street, Ansonia, CT 06401. Not sure what to say?

A beautiful person with a caring heart. Forever in my thoughts and hearts. Prayers for Joe Joe's loving parents.

Hey Joe. Something reminded me about you and our high school days so I wanted to Google you and see how you were... Unfortunately this is what I found. To his family, let me tell you he was one of my closest friends back then and he made High School tolerable. I didn't have much and he always shared whatever he had with me and I never forgot that. I wish I would have stayed in touch... I've got so many stories (some of which I'll never tell, Joe!) - from our trip to Texas for the Robotics...

LOML i miss you SO much every second of every day. If I only knew it'd be the last time I seen you, I woulda crawled after my Smillow appt the Friday before you passed when you wanted to go out. you were the most amazing human I've ever met and I am beyond blessed I was able to spend 13 yrs of my life with you. this doesn't get easier, it gets harder. even though you visit me in my dreams, its not the same. it will never be the same. your caring, innocent, loyal good soul. the world truly is...

I love you I miss you and think about you everyday my best friend family till we meet again in shangri-la words can't describe how large of role you are always where in my life

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire Dorosh family.

Janice and Joe: I was very shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of your son heaven has gained another angel (words can not even express) my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

If I could have just one more dance with you, I would chose a song that lasted forever.

Sincere condolences to your family may he rest in peace and watch over your family
