Joseph J. Dougherty lost his ten year battle with end stage renal disease on November 4, 2022.

He is survived by wife Patricia, son Brian, son Patrick, daughter-in-law Kim, grandson Bradley Brian, sister-in-law Eileen Dougherty, brother-in-law Michael Sammin, brother-in-law Kevin Sammin, sister-in-law Donna Sammin
and eleven nieces and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Elizabeth, brothers Dennis, Frank, Michael, Jimmy, Kevin and sister Mary Pierates.
Joe was a steel worker most of his adult life. He worked at Modern Steel Equipment, Disston Steel, Advanced Transit and finished his career at Forman Signs in 2012.
He loved his family and friends, Cape May, NJ, gardening, playing the lottery and dancing at weddings. He will be forever missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday, November 14, 2022 St. Jerome's Church 8100 Colfax St.Phila PA 19136 9:30AM to 10:30am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial 10:30. Interment Private

Joe and I were friends for 61 Years, I could never ask for a better or more honest friend in my life ! Joe was there when ever you needed him without question! Joe was very proud of his two boy's Brian and Patrick and the Love of his life Patty his wife and always bragged of her cooking, but most of all Joe was looking to his son's Patrick wife Kim giving birth to his second grandchild in December unfortunately it wasn't meant to be !! There's hundreds of things I could talk about my friend...
