My condolences to all the loved ones of Joseph E. Douglas. The fullness of a life can be measured in many ways. A cure for cancer or the common cold is a recognizable and laudable contribution. But as great as those things would be, there is perhaps no greater gift than to leave behind generations that will contribute significantly to our common humanity. Though a passing may be sad and difficult, there is nothing better than living a full life. This is what Joseph E. Douglas did.

Mr. Douglas was my father's roommate at West Hartford Rehab for sometime. My Dad passed away this November 27. It was always a pleasure to see Mr. Douglas. Maybe he and my dad now room together in peace in paradise. Caroline
